Celebrating Speed: Bentley’s unique ‘FOShtank’ display at Goodwood

Bentley aimed to create a distinctive and memorable presence at the Goodwood Festival of Speed 2024. The aim was to celebrate their unofficial ‘Underwater Speed Record’ – a remarkable feat where the new Continental GT achieved 208 mph / 335 km/h through the Lærdal tunnel in Norway . The concept was to design a bespoke version of Bentley’s iconic glass ‘Toy Box’ display units, modified to incorporate a custom-built fish tank, which soon became fondly known as the ‘Bentley FOShtank’ to align with the underwater theme.

The display needed to be visually striking and engaging. Additionally, Bentley requested that we design the interior of their luxurious hospitality area overlooking the track on the main straight, ensuring a premium experience for guests. The overall goal was to blend innovation, humour, and luxury, creating an unforgettable presence for Bentley’s infamous brand at Goodwood.

We designed and engineered a unique and captivating ‘FOShtank’ display, transforming Bentley’s standard glass ‘Toy Box’ into an underwater-themed spectacle.

The custom-built fish tanks were seamlessly integrated into the display, which gave the impression that the stunning Continental GT was actually under water. The display was strategically placed where the significant footfall meant it quickly became the most talked about activation at the festival, attracting constant attention and sparking conversations and numerous social media posts from festival attendees, we even had a FOShtank supervisor that reassured the visitors that the 30 fish were very happy in their temporary home.

For the luxurious hospitality area, we ensured that every detail exuded elegance and comfort synonymous with the luxury brand. The area was outfitted with wall hanging that were designed and built to embody Bentley design.

The ‘FOShtank’ at the Goodwood Festival of Speed was a massive highlight of the event, drawing widespread curiosity and numerous photos and social media posts.

It was a playful yet sophisticated design which effectively celebrated Bentley’s unofficial ‘Underwater Speed Record,’ and gave them a unique presence at Goodwood 2024 and encouraged engagement with the brand.

The successful execution of both the ‘FOShtank’ and the hospitality area reinforced Bentley’s reputation for innovation, luxury, and attention to detail. Overall, the project not only met but exceeded expectations, leaving a lasting impression on all who attended.
